This is really long over due, but is none the less important. Orintation is over and the mood has died down. In just a short week, 1/8 of the 2009 student population was swept off the ground and led to victory for orientation. This is an address to my OGLs and freshmen alike. This is for Orin.

We have grown to be a strong unit after all. On the first day where the OGL groupings were announced, I think we all felt a little unsettled, But this was only natural as we were like ourselves freshmen and alien to each other. But this was where our strength lay.

Throughout my time working along with the OG, I was slow to realize how diverse our social network was! Thanks guys everyone played a part.

I thank Charmaine , Gillian and Jasmine for their creativity, for without them, there would be no banner. Additionally, thanks to Charmaine, we will have our OG shirt soon.

Next would be Glen, Elroy and Esmond , the Sai-Gang Warriors of Orin. I really take my hat off to you guys when I say this, “thank you”. I know I have been assigning a lot of work to the 3 of your , but its only because I believed your were very dedicated and efficient guys who could get things done. I didn’t know it back then, but your were awespme lady-killers.

Thank you Class of 08A12. That’s to Arianto , Sandy, Aloysius and the rest. Like whoa…. Art class FTW man. You guys know how to play and you guys know how to have fun. Ive always admired your class spirit and the TSD thing. Your remind me of a family where everyone’s a child and everydays Christmas. I may exaggerate but yea, Orin’s Spirit is like ¼ made up of 08A12.

Thank you 08S64 too. You guys were the pillars of the structure. Your completed the social network I was referring to. Before the contact list was finalized, the chaotic relay system actually lay its strengths within your guys being spread out and knowing other OGLs . Without your the process would be help harder to resolve. In light of that, it was none-the-less integral of Orin to have assets such as you guys. Your class is the most enthu class in VJ right now. Keep it up , your too took up ¼ of Orin’s spirit.

To the Sports athletes, I know the trainings been tough and some of your cant participate much in our OG activities despite your urge to, but I really appreciate your efforts. Trainings hard and seasons are coming . I hope you invite the Ogls and the Freshmen to your important matches in the future. Win the 1st position! Just like you helped Orin!

To Lemuel, Im sorry you cant borrow the quote “ Orin high spirit”. Its been in you all along =]

To the rest of the OGLs, this wouldn’t be possible without you! Thanks ah!

To the freshmen, Im sorry but Orintation as ended. I may not have the chance to get to know all of your but the ones that I did manage to interact with, im very happy that your happy in VJ. I’ve noticed how your actually made friends with people from other Sub-Ogs. Cool eh? Vj’s a small place and 1/8 people are affliated to you. Go create your own JC life now, its just beginning =]

To the Orin freshmen who are running for SCs, please make sure Orin comes back next year for Orintation as a reoccurring character!

This is the A levels year for the OGLs, mug hard and we’ll play hard together soon. We can always arrange something special!

anyways, here's what the SCs went through on Wed, during the briefing

*Know where members are at ALL times(there will be a K.I test on Monday, so ogls plse take note)
*Safety of the freshmen is of utmost importance
*Each Subog is to Carry at least 3 1.5litre bottles at all times
*Proper footwear during all activities(that means, no one goes barefoot!)

Mass dance@ Suntec =>6th Feb(friday)
Safety - Do not Jaywalk or use the main roads to cross to the Fountain Plaza
- Do not run around in the mall nor disturb the Shoppers
- Do not lean against the railings
Security- Be mindful of your own belongings
Trash- Bring along Trashbags(at least 1 a subog); do not use existing trashbins there(throw the rubbish into the bigger bins)
- Clear any trash lying around before you vacate the area
Loitering- Do not loiter at the roundabout staircase leading to the Fountain Plaze

Calling up Freshmen- their contact list is already in you email
-Call them up individually
*tell them 1) Time(8am), Venue(concourse), Attire to report(Secondary school full
uniform)
2) Pack light, bring along water bottle, money for: Lunch/School

Hi everyone! thanks for the post....zomg it was so sweet^^ anyways.. today orin finally had our 1st(and ONLY) Banner painting session thanks to our efficient and totally imba oringes...honestly, i love our banner..i mean, in less than 2 hours we got:

Orin Storyline

Orin’s Story [Orin font from online]

In the Land of Victoria, lived a hero. However, he was no ordinary hero, he was a superhero! Going only by the name of Orin (secretly meaning O.R.I.N), he fought crime with holy vigilance. Born favored by the Gods, he was blessed with amazing holy powers to heal and a brain to match.

As a child, Orin had an inquisitive mind. He wanted to learn how his powers worked along with many other secrets of the universe. When he was 10 years old, he discovered that he had the ability to change water into some kind of healing potion. He felt that he could be a great hero with this ability.

With this in mind, he sought out the “Dummies guide to being a Superhero!” Throughout the years, he perfected the Orin Juice. But being a superhero doesn’t pay your bills, and he had a vision! He had a dream! He had a fantasy! To be… a principal!

When affected by Anneke’s time-space continuum, he realized there was an imminent threat to the people of Victoria and established the “O”rin levels to recruit the ordinary and turn them into the Orindary. After selecting the best, he let them attend the Orintation to turn them into wise “O” men. Going by the name of professor “O”, he and his team of 8 “O” men, along with their freshly plucked Oringes and their mascot, the Orin Utan, they lent their abilities to the King and Queen of Victoria, joining the group of heroes in their fight against Anneke.

P.S. Many of y’all may be wondering why Orin is blue, and that’s because Orin is Colour-blind, and sees blue as orange.

ohkaye fellow oringes, i checked out a couple of party shops that i passed by for water guns..and apparently they import the water guns by boxes, and the boxes dont sell by colour. Besides, the party shops i went to didnt have small blue ones...(even they look more lasting and are of the same price...)But! i found the bigger version for us ogls! its 2 bucks..and i tink its the same kind as the ones we saw in giant that day...theres a whole lot of blue...hopefully we can convince the uncle to import enough for the ogls...
anyways, just abit of random talk..yep! in attempt to keep this blog alive...=.=

anyways, just reiterating what Jerald said yesterday and adding some stuff we discussed over dinner yesterday..

1) send Email, homeadd, bloog type, next of kin, contact, dietary restrictions, medical allergies to Yi Xiang if you havent filled up the piece of paper that went round yesterday.
Since he has to get them in by 7pm Friday, it'll best be you send him asap..

HERE IS SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO NOTE, THE SCS WANT YOUR PARENTS' CONTACT NUMBER TOO. PLEASE SMS YOUR CONTACT DETAILS TO Sandy BY FRIDAY 7PM ( Teddy)

2) Our banner design..yesh, we are the only og left with a unaccepted banner, because apparently we need to add in something to signify our POWERS. which happen to be healing. err.. HOW DO WE DO THAT?!?!0.0 ohkaye, Yi Xiang was saying that we show the water spraying out of the water gun, and around it, we put signs like HP+ or something. Anyone with hidden artistic talent that they would like to share and help the group?
Yesh, banner deadline: 5 Jan 2008=gah, since most people will be off having holidays.

3)2 more OGL days we have to attend, that is the "Refresher" course on the 17th of Jan 2009(Saturday) as well as the Orientation programme briefing on 28th Jan 2008(wednesday). The one on the 17th will last probably the whole day? and its like a day to refresh our memories about the mass dance steps and the cheers etc..The one on the 28th, basically is the last meeting before ORIENTATION actually starts!!Remember to turn up people...attendance is like taken. Oh yea, and remember to check the ogl.vjc.sg site(which is linked here at our blog) regularly for updates about the two dates.

4)Oh kaye, since this year, school posting will be released on the 31st of Jan, it is like 2 days before orientation, so if you guys want, you can call them up in that short period..but there is no obligatory need lah..yea..

5)Orientation is on the 2nd-6th Feb..yesh

6)Our identity for the freshmen would be a blue water gun..probably from some china manufacturer or some party shop. The one near parkway sells 1 for $1, so we probably should get them to pay for it.. Ogl's identity would be a bigger(but better) gun, and Ogh...of course is the biggest one lah. Super soaker..lol. But one point to note is that the cost for our own guns will come from our own pockets. Also, by giving water guns to the freshmen, we need to keep an eye on them to make sure they do not use it overexcessively. Like, no using the water guns unless it is wet games or something likedat lah. Another reason why we have the bigger gun, is so to ensure that WE STILL OWN THEM. and that if they try to shoot at us. they die. HAH.

7)OUR OGH IS LEAVING 2MR FOR HOLIDAY!!! so we'll be headless again..=.=dat means our ogh and vice ogh will all be away..so..its up to our vice vice ogh=GILLIAN!^^

8)Tentative date for banner painting is 2nd Jan. Yea, its abit rushed..but thats when everyone has probably come back..and apparently it doesnt take that long to paint a banner..yea, we can finish it in a day of two(so we shall prayyyyyyyy for good weather)

hi orin!! yesh!! first day of OGL training today...honestly i am quite tired(even though i have no idea why...=.=) oh wells, i think we did great for today! our cheers worked out quite well..and we were quite high at the appropriate times..haha..i'm sure we had a fair share of fun^^

anyways, here's a quick update for 2mr..
Things to bring: Extra tee shirt( if you want a change of clothes)..er waterbottle? and 5 bucks to pay Glen too..yea, i tink dats about it..

Hey guys! okay just to recap what we did today!
firstly, we edited our storyline, which glen has submitted to kenrick already.
we also decided on stuff like cheers, OG identity, and banner design. Oh, and lastly we decided on our Vice OGH through some crazy method of drawing lots (CHARMAINE is our standing Vice OGH! Congrats! =P)

okay, i'll be sending out an email with both the storyline and cheers attached. For those who don't get it, can find me online or something! yup okay cheers!

P.S. for the banner design and OG identity, Charmaine will be getting the banner design done. OG identity has yet to be confirmed (was it?), due to the question of cost, visibility and feasibility (or something like that.).

P.S.S we've decided to collect $5 from each OGL to fund our campaign! This would include the buying of paints and identities. Yup. Erm, not sure when it would be collected, but yup, just to keep you guys informed!

hey guys..as you probably have noticed, i edited the face of superman to put in the words ORIN, and uploaded the pic into our VERY OWN PHOTOBUCKET ACC!

HEY ORIN!

as you can see, the new blogskin is up, credit to Benedict, ~~Sandy~~(edited by sandy..i didnt do much lar..)and jasmine! if you have any suggestions for the skin (eg. anything to add in, change of colour..) just leave it in the tagboard.

haha great to see this blog up and kicking. keep it going! =D

Hey Guys =]

In a Nut Shell,

Here is what has happened so far.
1) we have submited a story
2) we have some cheers
3) we have our sub-og names ( still changable please voice out soon, especially 01)

Now heres what we lack.
1) Our Banner design
2) We have not officially testrun our cheers .
3) we have not shopped for the banner materials (i.e. Paint etc)
4) We have not painted the banner
5) Prepare a list of props for the OGH ( we
+ We have to collect an OG fund soon too , when we determine how much expenses we will need

And in the Long-run
6) Shop/make our OGM identities
7) Prepare a entrance skit ( thank you allorix's blog for reminding =] )

Hmmm,the next meeting will have to depend on the banner team =\ Once we have gotten a banner design approved from the SCs, we'll get the materials asap and meet up. Please volunteer and provide support for our lovely banner team consisting of Gillian , Charmaine and Jasmine. Please feel very free to join them in the design, cause we all want a great banner to showcase!

In any case, whenever there is a purchase of items for the OG, please contact Glen(its spelt right this time =]) our current Treasurer the reciepts, who will kindly either 1) claim the $50 from Stacy the Student Councilor or 2) claim from our OG Fund ( Gasp! )

Next meeting will involve 1) Banner Painting , 2) Cheering , 3) Nonsense =] ( pounds chest twice and points to u in a non-shengxiong way)

Tentatively , we hope to have a meeting next monday or tuesday(feels a bit rushed). But we have to meet up to really interact and stuff, so we will be more prepared on the OGL training dates itself.

hey guys..sorry for mia-ing the past couple of days cos of camp and holiday and all..yep!! currently i'm trying to edit the skin that jasmine found..haha its quite cute~ but anyone have any idea how to change the background to blue?haha
oh yesh and i'm fine helping u guys add your own blog links in!^^ just leave the links in the tag box i suppose...cos i dun exactly blog hop^^hehe..
oh wells~ just saying i love the storyline!! AND GO ORIN!!^^

Orin's Story

In the Land of Victoria, live a hero. However, was no oridinary hero, he was a superhero! Going only by the name of Orin ( secretly meaning O.R.I.N), he fought crime with holy vigilance. Born favored by the Gods, he was blessed with amazing holy powers to heal and a brain to match.

As a child, Orin grew up with an inquisitive mind. His wanted to learn how his powers worked along with many other secrets of the universe. His pursuit of knowledge scored him 12 A1s in his ‘O’ levels ( in fact, he did so well, he wished Cambridge would rename it the ‘Orin’ levels). He then enrolled into the prestigious Victorian Junior College to feed his thirst for knowledge.

In school, he excelled in both academics and CCA. He took H20( pun intended!) chemistry and Design and technology and became the President of the Medical Society. Finally equipped with the facilities and expertise, Orin began developing and understanding his powers. He finally understood that water was his element and whenever he touches water, it becomes imbued with holy energy that is able to heal the wounded(codenamed orin juice!). Driven to protect the innocent and fight crime , he developed more weapons to both harm and heal when needed.

One day Orin noticed that unlike other CCAs, the Medical Society is not involved in competitions such as the SYF and that meant that his members and himself had a very weak T3A. With Ananke’s prophecy of returning soon, he felt that it would be cool to be able to write “ I defeated Ananke and saved the land of Victoria” as one of his achievements.

With that in mind and for the greater good, along with his 8 other CCA members, Orin and his sidekicks rose up to the challenge and are geared up to defeat the evil Ananke and save the world!

2) i was blog hopping ard the other OG's blogs..and i realise they all have their personalised blogskins already..=.= oh well, if anyone has anything to recommend, feel free! i was looking ard blogskins.com for some possible ones..but the only one i felt ohkaye...had problems with the html...we should finalise the look of our HERO so we can put her/him/it up as our skin!
